Never heard of us before? Well we're not GameSpy that's for sure. It seems every year we've gone through several changes, hosting rules, and more importantly, upgrades.
Some of our hosted sites have been with us since late 2000, and have loved the service the whole way. Many hang out on our IRC channel,
where they have immediate access to hearing about all our future plans, and best of all they can ask questions and get answers! It's become it's own community,
as when no edgenetwork staff is available, other hosted sites tend to help each other ;-)
Our main feature is the way our system revolves around edgeid. In most cases if you host three different domains, you're forced into using a number of different logins to maintain them,
let alone giving your friends/staff access to the site. With our system, your edgeid is like your access card into a security building. The control panel, FTP services, etc. all make use of this one
login/password. Say your friend gets hosted too, and wants to give you access to his site. He does so in the control panel, and the next time you log into FTP you can access his site as well as your own. That,
in short, is how our system works. Since we're not a payhost, and we're not trying to 'sell' you our hosting - we're not providing a preview to this service. It's a feature for those who are hosted, and will
remain that way.

At the time this was updated, December 2003, our primary server is a Dual Xeon 2.0GHz with Hyper-Threading, carrying 2GB of DDR RAM. We use SCSI drives, and have more than 200GB of space. In the chance we run out,
we'll just get more!
The Operating System of our webserver is Gentoo Linux. Gentoo is a rarity when it comes to a production server, but we favor it because of it's stability, security and that it's so much like FreeBSD ;)
In brief, our webserver software is the well-known Apache 1.3x, with the PHP4.x module. Our PHP installation includes many of the useful available modules, ie. GD2.0, XML etc. We also have ImageMagick 5.x installed.
We provide mySQL 4.x, and postgreSQL 7.x database servers, and Perl 5.8.x is available for CGI scripting. We often install perl modules upon request, so don't be afraid to ask.
We also have several servers for serving edgefiles, as well as mirrors provided by our good friends over at FileFront.
